History

 

History of the Championship

The Global GT Lights Championship was taken over by Graham Hathaway Engineering in 1999, and has since gone from strength to strength.

With regular grids of up to thirty car, split between the faster 1000cc cars and the original 600cc cars, the racing is always fast and furious throughout the field.
Also, the GT2 1300cc for 2006.

Global GT races are often the highlight of the racing day at meetings, with plenty of fast, spectacular and fun racing to be seen.

In addition to the UK championship, several Irish competitors race in a domestic Global GT championship, but also compete is most of the UK championship, ensuring there is added competition and rivalry.

With past Champions moving on to race in cars such as British GT Corvette, Juno, Radical and Formula Palmer Audi (among others), Global GT has proved to be a valuable training formula.
